Choose Qi / Qi2 when
Interoperability with certified consumer devices, familiar user behavior and ecosystem compatibility are primary requirements.
Choose a custom TX/RX design when
The charger and receiver are designed as one system with unique coil geometry, enclosure, interface or environmental constraints.
Validate before locking the ID
Coil position, air gap, metal, magnets, heat paths and surrounding electronics can materially change charging performance.
Standards note: Qi/Qi2 specifications and branding evolve. Use the Wireless Power Consortium knowledge base for current public standard information, then validate the exact target specification during project definition.
